The Scorpion A2-4222-560kv is an airplane propulsion motor intended for 60–64-inch acrobatic aircraft and other airframes requiring up to 2550w. Its architecture combines a 12-arm stator, 14 magnet poles and a 5T Delta winding. The stator measures 42 mm in diameter and 22 mm thick, with 0.2mm silicon steel sheets and enamel-coated copper windings rated above 200C+. Installation space must accommodate the 51mm x 46.9mm body and an additional 12.0mm prop spacer. The external shaft diameter is 8mm. Weight is 328.4g for the motor and 374.8g including the mount and prop mounting accessories.
The supplied motor package includes a stock A-42 cross mount, four M4 mounting bolts, three female 4mm connectors, three heat-shrink pieces, twelve 4x16x1 thrust shims, an M8 nut with prop washer, and three stickers. The recommended propeller for 6s is the Scorpion 16x8 Carbon; the recommended controller is the Tribunus III 06-110A ESC SBEC. Continuous ratings are 80A and 2000 Watts, with continuous current subject to Power % reduction factors. Peak ratings are 115A and 2550 Watts. Peak power permits intermittent full throttle for 10–180 seconds depending on use case and cooling. Higher cell counts are possible with smaller propellers.
