Product overview
The GiAi SP970 is an optical-glass short-pass filter intended for sensing and optical instruments, including UAV obstacle-avoidance systems. Its physical specifications are customizable. The filter transmits visible and near-infrared light below 970nm while blocking longer-wavelength near-infrared light. Its operating wavelength range is 420nm-1100nm, with maximum transmittance Tgreater than 93% and a listed center wavelength of 970nm. The specified blocking band is 970nm-1100nm, with transmittance Tless than 0.1%; customization is also offered for this blocking specification.
For lidar and active illumination ranging, the SP970 can suppress solar background in the 970–1100nm band when the system uses laser sources below 970nm, such as 808nm, 850nm or 905nm. This filtering function supports its use in UAV obstacle avoidance and handheld rangefinders. Other applications include near-infrared spectroscopy and multichannel spectral separation, where the filter provides a transmission-to-blocking transition at 970nm. Its spectral role therefore centers on retaining shorter-wavelength signals while rejecting the specified longer-wavelength band.
