The Scorpion SII-5525 series Stand-Off provides mounting distance for an SII-5525 electric motor in a giant-scale airplane. Its role is to bridge the installation space associated with gas-engine layouts, placing the electric motor appropriately relative to the firewall and cowl. With the SII-5525 motor fitted, the combined length corresponds to a DA35cc engine with a standard 1-inch stand-off. This is a motor installation accessory supplied as hardware, rather than a flight platform or airframe kit.
The supplied configuration comprises four 90mm stand-offs, four washers in each of three thicknesses—6mm, 3mm and 1.5mm—and eight M5 spacers. Fasteners comprise four M5 ×16 and four M5 ×20mm hex screws; mounting threads are M5. The washers provide additional spacing to position the motor within the cowl. Weight is 180g, or 190g including packaging. The intended drop-in installation also uses Scorpion Freestyle Cross Mounts, whose corresponding gas-engine bolt spacing forms part of that integration arrangement.
