Product overview

The Scorpion HKII-4525 Shaft Kit XL (6mm 55mm) is a factory replacement shaft kit for HKII-4525 helicopter motors, supplied in the long shaft configuration. Its purpose is to replace a worn shaft or provide a shaft size suited to the model's installation. The HKII-45 series uses a 10mm hardened steel shaft, while this kit's pinion end is reduced to 6mm over a 55mm length. A flat spot provides the mounting provision for the required pinion.

Integration centers on the motor's aluminum front housing and the pinion connection. The shaft is a slight press fit, so removing the set screws alone will not release it. Removal requires an arbor press and a wooden support block beneath the front housing to prevent warping. The shaft can be shortened with a Dremel tool and cut-off wheel when necessary. Compatibility extends to earlier motors such as the HK-45 series, although minor modification may be required. Weight including packaging is 62g.
