The Scorpion HK-4035 Shaft Kit (5mm 30mm) provides a factory replacement for a bent or broken shaft in HK-4035 series helicopter motors. Its hardened steel shaft has an 8mm main diameter and a stated overall length of 94.7mm. The pinion end is ground to 5mm to accept 5mm pinion gears. The supplied configuration consists of one HK4035 motor shaft, one washer and two C-clips; the weight including packaging is 35.65g.
Integration into other brushless motors depends on their requiring a 5mm shaft of this length. Where another motor requires a shorter shaft, it can be cut with a Dremel tool and cut-off wheel. Servicing a Scorpion motor requires pressing equipment: the shaft has a slight press fit in the aluminum front housing and does not slide free after setscrew removal. Extraction requires a bearing press or drill press, with the front housing supported in a wooden block to prevent warping.
