The Scorpion HK-3014 Shaft Kit provides factory replacement shafts for HK-3014 series helicopter motors when an existing shaft bends or breaks. This motor service accessory uses hardened steel shafts measuring 5mm in diameter and 57mm long. It accommodates both newer HK-3014 motors with a C-clip retainer and older versions with a retaining collar secured by set screws. The kit weighs 10g including packaging. Its role is replacement of a motor component, rather than provision of a complete flight platform or airframe.
Use in other brushless motors depends on their requirement for a 5mm shaft of the specified length; the shaft can be shortened with a Dremel tool and cut-off wheel where necessary. In Scorpion motors, the shaft has a slight press fit into the aluminum front housing. Removing the set screws alone will not allow it to slide out. Removal requires a bearing press or drill press, with the front housing supported in a block of wood to prevent it from warping.
