Product overview
The HC-260 is a large-payload unmanned helicopter with a conventional single-rotor layout. A fuel engine drives the main rotor, and a motor drives the tail rotor directly. An integrated generator and battery power the onboard equipment. The engine is listed as a 210cc twin-engine unit. The rotor control system works on the same principles as a traditional helicopter, which gives the aircraft high stability and good maneuverability. Its rotor efficiency is higher than a multi-rotor's, and its endurance is longer. The aircraft supports beyond-visual-range flight. With a signal relay, it can work in complex terrain, such as low altitude over mountains or over the sea.
Payload capacity is 75kg, and endurance is 120min with a 55kg load. The aircraft has a 70L external fuel tank and runs on either 92# gasoline or aviation kerosene. One payload option is a two-axis, triple-lens target-positioning camera on a high-precision gyro-stabilized platform that can operate throughout the day. It combines a 30x optical zoom visible-light camera, a 640x512 infrared camera and laser measurement with a maximum range of 3 km. The aircraft also accepts third-party custom payloads, so it can serve as a common platform for different missions.
The flight control system pairs a flight control computer with a micro-integrated GPS/INS navigation unit. It provides one-click automatic take-off, landing, hovering, circling, return and altitude hold. It also supports parachute deployment and autonomous cruising along planned routes. Operators can switch flight modes and control the aircraft's attitude during flight. The control software shows mission and flight-status data in real time. Listed uses include sea rescue and material delivery, environmental monitoring with large gas-monitoring payloads, and nuclear emergency surveys that measure radiation levels and the extent of contamination.
