Product overview
The GiAi SP850 is an optical-glass short-pass filter with customizable specifications. It separates visible and near-infrared light below 850nm from longer-wavelength near-infrared light above 900nm, with a steep transition at its 850nm center wavelength. Its operating wavelength range is 420nm-1100nm. Average transmittance in the transmission region exceeds 92%, while transmittance in the 900nm-1100nm blocking region is below 0.1%. The blocking depth is customizable, providing a configurable optical characteristic alongside the filter’s broader customizable specification.
Applications include UAV obstacle-avoidance systems, lidar, handheld rangefinders and active infrared illumination. For 808nm lidar and illumination, the SP850 transmits 808nm light at Tgreater than 92% while suppressing solar background above 900nm. Other uses include near-infrared fluorescence imaging, treatment-light filtering, laser-processing stray-light suppression and multichannel spectroscopy. In laser-induced fluorescence measurements, it can suppress environmental stray light or sample thermal background above 900nm when the fluorescence signals of interest fall within 800–850nm, including measurements using 532nm or 785nm excitation.
