The Scorpion HK-5035 Shaft Kit (8mm 32mm) supplies factory replacement shafts for HK-5035 series helicopter motors, supporting repairs after a shaft bends or breaks during a landing. For the HK-5035-500KV motor, the shaft is hardened steel, measures 10mm in diameter and 100.75mm long, and has a pinion end ground down to 8mm for fitting 8mm pinion gears. These dimensions define the shaft body and gear interface relevant to selecting a replacement for that motor.
The kit also fits other brushless motors requiring a 10mm shaft of this length, and the shaft can be shortened with a Dremel tool and cut-off wheel when necessary for those motors. In Scorpion motors, the shaft is a slight press fit in the aluminum front housing. Removing the setscrews alone does not release it: extraction requires a bearing press or drill press, with the front housing supported in a wooden block to prevent warping.
