The Scorpion HK-4540 Shaft Kit (8mm 55mm) is a factory replacement shaft kit for servicing HK-4540 series helicopter motors after shaft damage. Those motors use 10mm hardened steel shafts. The extended shaft is specifically described for HK-4535 series motors, with a 10mm diameter and 127mm length; that dimensional qualification differs from the kit’s HK-4540 model identity. Its pinion end is reduced to 8mm to accept 8mm pinion gears, providing the stated mechanical interface for the drive gear.
Integration into other brushless motors requires a motor that accepts a 10mm shaft of the stated length. Where necessary for another motor, the shaft can be shortened with a Dremel tool and cut-off wheel. Scorpion motor shafts have a slight press fit in the aluminum front housing, so removing the setscrews alone does not free them. Removal requires a bearing press or drill press and a wood block supporting the front housing to prevent warping. Weight including packaging is 60g.
