The Scorpion HK-4525 Shaft Kit (6mm 35mm) is a factory replacement shaft kit for HK-4525 and HKII-4525 helicopter motors, intended for repairs after a shaft bends or breaks. The hardened steel shaft measures 10mm in diameter and 91.5mm in length. Its pinion end is ground down to 6mm to accept 6mm pinion gears. These dimensions define the shaft’s mechanical fit within the motor and its connection to the pinion gear. Weight including packaging is 52.8g.
The kit also fits other brushless motors that require a 10mm shaft of the same length; it can be shortened using a Dremel tool and cut-off wheel where necessary. In Scorpion motors, the shaft has a slight press fit within the aluminum front housing, so removing the setscrews alone does not free it. Shaft removal requires a bearing press or drill press, with the front housing supported in a block of wood to prevent the housing from warping.
