The Scorpion HK-4015-1450KV is a brushless propulsion motor intended for 500-class electric helicopters using 425 to 450mm blades and a 6s LiPo setup. Its electromagnetic assembly combines a 40 mm stator diameter, 15 mm stator thickness, 12 stator arms and eight magnet poles with an eight-turn delta winding. CNC-machined aluminum alloy parts receive a gold-anodized finish, while the stator uses epoxy-coated 0.2mm laminations. The winding wire is rated at 180 degrees C (356 F), and the magnets at 200 degrees C (392 F).
Installation space must accommodate a 48.9 mm outside diameter, 41.5 mm body length and 73.7 mm overall shaft length; motor weight is 244 Grams (8.61 oz). The shaft has a 6mm main section reduced to a nominal 5mm output for pinion gears, with a specified shaft diameter of 4.98 mm. Electrical limits are 80 Amps and 1770 Watts continuously, rising to 110Amps and 2440 Watts for 2sec peaks. Motor timing is 5deg, with an 8kHz drive frequency.
The supplied package contains one motor, three female connectors, three heat-shrink pieces and four M3 screws. The motor already carries 4mm male bullet connectors, with matching female connectors supplied for the speed controller. Propeller use requires a separately purchased adapter for a 5mm shaft. Installation requires clearance between the pinion and main gear to prevent binding. Bearings need periodic replacement and a small drop of oil on each bearing every 5-6 flights; the two-year materials-and-workmanship warranty excludes bearings and motor damage resulting from bearing failure.
