The HOBBYWING Platinum HV 130A OPTO V4 is a brushless electronic speed controller for aircraft propulsion installations. Its applications include 550-600 class helicopters with 550-690mm main blades,.90-.140 class fixed-wing aircraft, 2m FAIF3A aircraft and 3D EDF installations with fan diameter no greater than 105mm. A 32-bit processor operating at 72MHz handles motor speed governing with adjustable governor parameters. Motor start-up time can be set from 8 to 25 seconds, and the drive incorporates DEO technology, also called active freewheeling.
The controller measures 101.0x45.5x27.0mm and weighs 154g, defining its installation envelope and component mass. It accepts a 6-14S LiPo input and has continuous and peak current ratings of 130A and 160A respectively. Its wiring comprises one red and one black 12AWG input lead, each 150mm long, together with three black 12AWG output leads measuring 100mm each. The configuration has no input or output connectors and no BEC output. A separate programming port provides the connection for supported programming equipment.
Programming is supported through an LCD Program Box, WiFi Module or OTA Programmer; transmitter, LED Program Card and LED Program Box programming are unsupported. Firmware upgrades are supported. Recorded flight information includes minimum voltage, maximum temperature and standardized RPM, with a speed curve available in Heli Governing Store mode. Built-in protection covers ESC and capacitor temperature, overload, throttle-signal loss and low-voltage cutoff. An arc-proof circuit addresses sparking at power-on. Normal braking has adjustable brake strength, while proportional braking follows the radio throttle-stick position.
