The HOBBYWING Platinum 100A V3 is a brushless electronic speed controller for 480-550 class 3D helicopters with 425-550mm main blades and.70 class 3D airplanes. It accepts 2-6S LiPo input and provides 100A continuous current with a 150A peak rating. Its built-in switch-mode BEC supplies servo power at selectable 6V, 7.4V or 8.4V. The tabulated BEC output is 10A; the accompanying current description specifies over 10A continuous and 25A peak. This is an aircraft power-control component.
The controller measures 70.0x35.0x21.0mm and weighs 104g, providing concrete dimensions for installation planning. Its physical arrangement includes a heatsink, with an additional cooling fan supplied for mounting onto that heatsink when needed. Battery-side wiring consists of red and black 12AWG leads, each 150mm long, without input connectors. Three black 12AWG motor leads are each 100mm long and use female 4.0mm gold connectors. Integration therefore requires provision for the battery connection alongside space for the controller, wiring and any fitted fan.
Control options comprise fixed-wing mode and three helicopter modes: Linear Throttle, Elf Governor and Store Governor. An Auto Restart (Time) function supports motor cutoff and restart. Programming is supported through a transmitter, LCD program box or WiFi module, with a separate programming port and firmware-upgrade support. LED program cards and LED program boxes are unsupported, which limits programming-equipment selection. Protection functions cover abnormal input voltage, ESC temperature, throttle-signal loss or Fail Safe, and low-voltage cutoff.
