Company overview
Daspatial focuses on geospatial intelligence, developing technology for sensing, reasoning about and interacting with the physical world in three dimensions. Its founding team comes from Wuhan University's national key laboratory for surveying, mapping and remote sensing information engineering. The company's work draws on that team's background in constructing, understanding, analysing and applying three-dimensional spatial information.
The company is based in Jiangxia District, Wuhan, Hubei, China.
Daspatial's development history includes both spatial reconstruction software and its own sensing hardware. Its early work covered spatial data acquisition and three-dimensional reconstruction, followed by the release of its reconstruction software and the Shuangyu 1.0 spatial sensing hardware. This documented hardware development establishes a component business alongside its spatial modelling work.
Its Shuangyu 8X camera series is designed for oblique aerial photography. The series uses a surrounding arrangement of five cameras with synchronized exposure to capture aerial images of ground features from multiple angles.
The Shuangyu 8X series also incorporates an image-handling workflow for surveying data. This includes encryption of original images during capture, secure copying, dedicated aerial-image quality inspection software and decryption within an internal network. These are documented features of the camera workflow, rather than a guarantee that every deployment will eliminate data-security risks.
