AMOVLAB was established in 2016 to support mobile robotics research and development with open-source software, hardware tools and courses. Its technical community developed the Prometheus open-source autonomous drone project and accompanying P-series drone hardware. Its offerings also include indoor and outdoor formation-flight solutions, gimbal-based visual tracking, educational solutions, simulation computers, vision and depth sensors, and high-bandwidth communications equipment.
The Prometheus230, abbreviated P230, is an experimental drone platform designed for researchers and drone developers, including indoor obstacle-avoidance algorithm validation. It combines a carbon-plate airframe, a Pixhawk 6c open-source flight controller and the Prometheus platform to provide indoor positioning and Ego_planner autonomous obstacle avoidance. When switching between indoor and outdoor operation, operators must check the positioning-source settings, including EKF2_AID_MASK and EKF2_HGT_MODE.
