LaSense Technology develops and manufactures precision instruments based on laser spectroscopy, including high-precision gas analyzers and long-distance laser telemeters. Founded in Hong Kong, China in November 2019, the company draws on laser sensing research at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Its gas analyzer range covers more than 20 gas molecules at ppb-level concentrations, including methane, ethane, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, sulfur dioxide, hydrogen fluoride and hydrogen. Civilian applications include petroleum and natural gas operations, carbon emission monitoring, semiconductor wafer processing and public safety inspection.
The company's sensing technologies span cavity-enhanced absorption spectroscopy, cavity ring-down spectroscopy, tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy and photoacoustic spectroscopy. Its drone and robot inspection solutions integrate gas sensing instruments with mobile platforms. One compact instrument in its hardware range is the LRS-Mini methane laser telemeter, measuring 48 × 36 × 46 mm. It provides non-contact methane concentration monitoring for natural gas pipelines and oil and gas stations, with a measurement distance of over 300 meters, a response time as fast as 5 ms and sensitivity at the 1 ppm·m level. Designed for locations where fixed monitoring devices are difficult to install, it supports handheld use or mounting on drones, robots, elevated pan-tilt platforms and inspection vehicles.
