The Scorpion HKIV-4035 Shaft Kit XL (6mm 55mm) provides a replacement shaft for HKIV-4035 XL helicopter motors, including those used in the GAUI X7. It serves motor repair when a shaft bends or breaks during a landing. The hardened steel shaft has an 8mm main diameter and a specified overall length of 110mm. Its pinion end is ground down to 6mm for installation of 6mm pinion gears. The kit weighs 49g including packaging.
Integration depends on the motor’s shaft dimensions and mounting arrangement. Other brushless motors may accept the shaft where they require a 6mm shaft of this length; shortening with a Dremel tool and cut-off wheel is possible when needed for fit. In Scorpion motors, the shaft is a slight press fit in the aluminum front housing. Removal requires a bearing press or drill press, with the housing supported in a wooden block to prevent warping; releasing the setscrews alone is insufficient.
