The Scorpion HKIV-4025 Shaft Kit XL (6mm 36mm) provides a factory replacement for the stock shaft in HKIV-4025 helicopter motors. It supports replacement of a worn shaft or a shaft change for a particular model. The shaft combines an 8mm hardened steel body with a pinion end ground down to 6mm. A flat on that end allows installation of the required pinion. The kit supplies the stock shaft size used in HKIV-4025 motors.
The shaft has a slight press fit in the motor’s aluminum front housing, so removing the set screws does not allow it to slide free. Removal requires an arbor press, with the front housing supported in a block of wood to prevent warping. The shaft can be shortened with a Dremel tool and cut-off wheel when necessary. It is also compatible with earlier HKIII / HK 4025 motors, although some minor modification may be required. Weight including packaging is 37g.
