Product overview
United Aircraft Bearingless Rotor Blades form part of a helicopter rotor system that uses composite flexible beams in place of traditional hinges and bearings. Blade flapping, lead-lag and feathering motions depend on the hub support arms and elastic deformation of the blades. This configuration combines those movements in a simplified structure designed for low weight, reduced hub drag and ease of maintenance. United Aircraft has developed and put bearingless rotors into use on multiple platforms.
The specified 6 m bearingless rotor configuration has a rotating speed of 540 RPM and a distance between the upper and lower rotors equal to 8.5% of the rotor diameter. United Aircraft also applies a bearingless hub with integrated composite flexible beams to the T333 unmanned helicopter, whose rotor diameter is 10.2 m. The T333 rotor system incorporates the company's electrically controlled coaxial rotor technology.
