The Scorpion HKII-4525 Shaft Kit (6mm 35mm) provides a factory replacement shaft for HKII-4525 helicopter motors in the short configuration. The HKII-45 series uses 10mm hardened steel shafts; this replacement has a pinion end reduced to 6mm over a 35mm length. A flat on that section provides the mounting feature for the required pinion. Its integration role is within the motor and pinion assembly, with the reduced end defining the relevant pinion interface dimensions.
The shaft can be shortened with a Dremel tool and cut-off wheel when the installation requires less length. Replacement involves a slight press fit in the motor’s aluminum front housing: removing the set screws alone will not release it. Removal requires an arbor press and support beneath the front housing using a block of wood to prevent warping. Compatibility also extends to earlier motors such as the HK-45 series, although minor modification may be required. Weight including packaging is 58g.
