Product overview
The Scorpion HKII-4225-500KV Limited Edition is a helicopter propulsion motor intended for 600 class or light 700 class installations using 12-cell Li-Po power. Its construction combines CNC-machined aluminum alloy parts with gold electroplating and an epoxy-coated stator built from 0.2mm laminations. The winding uses a single strand of 1.3 mm wire in a 12-turn delta arrangement. Wire and magnet temperature ratings are 180 degrees C (356 F) and 200 degrees C (392 F), respectively.
Installation space must accommodate a 52.3 mm outside diameter, 51.50 mm body length and 91.5 mm overall shaft length, with a 5.98 mm shaft and 30mm mounting bolt spacing. The supplied package contains the motor, three female connectors and three heat-shrink pieces. Continuous input limits are 3550 Watts and 80 Amps; 5770 Watts and 130 Amps apply for five seconds. Bearings require periodic maintenance and replacement, with oil every 5-6 flights. The two-year defect warranty excludes bearings and motor damage caused by bearing failure.
