Product overview
The Scorpion HKII-2221-2010KV is a brushless motor primarily intended for helicopter and ducted fan installations. Its construction uses CNC-machined aluminum alloy parts with a gold-anodized finish. The stator combines 0.2mm laminations and an epoxy coating to prevent shorts, with nine stator arms and six magnet poles. A 16-turn delta winding uses 10-strand 0.21 mm wire. The winding wire carries a temperature rating of 180 degrees C (356 F), while the magnets can withstand up to 200 degrees C (392 F).
For installation planning, the motor weighs 81 Grams (2.86 oz), measures 27.9 mm (1.098 in) in outside diameter and has a body length of 38.3 mm (1.508 in). Its shaft diameter is 3.175 mm (0.123 in), with an overall shaft length of 58.7 mm (2.289 in). Electrical specifications include 2010KV RPM/Volt, maximum continuous current of 28 Amps and maximum continuous power of 590 Watts. The maximum LiPo configuration is 6s; motor timing is 5deg and drive frequency is 8kHz.
The supplied package contains one motor, three female connectors, three heat-shrink pieces and four M3 screws. The motor arrives with 3.5mm male bullet connectors attached, and the matching female connectors are intended for the speed controller. Weight including packaging is 220g. A propeller adapter is excluded from the supplied configuration. Using this motor with a propeller requires a separately purchased adapter for a 3.17mm shaft (1/8 inch), so that additional component must be included in procurement planning for a propeller installation.
