The Scorpion HKII-2208-34 is a brushless propulsion motor intended primarily for helicopters and ducted fans. Its construction combines gold-anodized, CNC-machined aluminum-alloy parts with an epoxy-coated stator using 0.2mm laminations. The stator has nine arms and six magnet poles, with a 34-turn delta winding made from five-strand 0.19mm wire. Winding insulation is rated at 180 degrees C (356 F), while the magnets withstand up to 200 degrees C (392 F); these are component temperature ratings.
Mechanical integration must accommodate a 27.9 mm outside diameter, 25.3 mm body length and 45.7 mm overall shaft length. The shaft diameter is 3.17 mm, and motor weight is 39 Grams (1.38oz). Electrical specifications include 2600 RPM / Volt, maximum continuous current of 15 Amps and maximum continuous power of 160 Watts, with a maximum 3s LiPo configuration. Motor timing is 5deg and drive frequency is 8kHz. No-load current is 0.85 Amps at 10 volts, with motor resistance of 0.126 Ohms.
The supplied package contains one motor with attached 3.5mm male bullet connectors, three matching female connectors for the speed controller, three heat-shrink pieces and four M3 screws. Propeller installations require a separately purchased adapter for the 3.17mm shaft because no propeller adapter is included. Installation requires sufficient clearance between the pinion and main gear to prevent binding, and each bearing needs a small drop of oil every 5-6 flights. The two-year materials-and-workmanship warranty excludes bearings and subsequent motor damage caused by bearing failure.
