The Scorpion HK-5025 Shaft Kit (6mm) is a factory replacement shaft kit for all HK-5025 series Scorpion helicopter motors, intended to replace a shaft bent or broken during a landing. Its hardened steel shaft has a 10mm main diameter and a length of 100.6mm. The pinion end is ground down to 6mm to accommodate 6mm pinion gears. This is a motor repair component, with integration defined by the shaft dimensions and the motor housing fit.
The kit also fits other brushless motors requiring a 10mm shaft of this length; shortening with a Dremel tool and cut-off wheel is possible when needed for another motor. In Scorpion motors, the shaft has a slight press fit in the aluminum front housing, so removing the setscrews alone will not release it. Removal requires a bearing press or drill press, with the front housing supported in a wood block to prevent warping. Weight including packaging is 72g.
