The Scorpion HK-4540 Motor - SIGNATURE provides electric propulsion for 700 or 800 class helicopters using 12S to 18S LiPo setups. Six selectable winding configurations span 315~580 RPM / Volt, with custom name laser engraving also offered. Its construction combines CNC-machined aluminum alloy parts, gold electro-coating and epoxy-coated stators with winding wire rated at 180 degrees C (356 F). The motor is wound in Germany. Continuous input capability is described as around 10kW, while the 15kW peak input rating is limited to two seconds.
Installation space must accommodate a 56.7 mm outside diameter, 72 mm body length and maximum overall shaft length of 127.3 mm. The mounting uses 30mm bolt spacing and M4 screw holes, and motor weight is 700~725 Grams. Integration requires sufficient clearance between the pinion and main gear to prevent binding. Bearings need periodic maintenance and replacement, including a small drop of oil every 5-6 flights. Maximum peak current remains unknown because of the ESC limitation. The two-year materials and workmanship warranty excludes bearings and motor damage resulting from bearing failure.
