The Scorpion HK-4535 Shaft Kit (6mm 37mm) is a factory replacement motor component for the HK-4535 helicopter motor series, intended to replace a shaft bent or broken during a landing. Its hardened steel shaft has a 10mm main diameter and a stated overall length of 106mm. The pinion end is ground to 6mm for installation of 6mm pinion gears. The supplied product is a shaft kit, rather than a flight platform or airframe kit.
Integration into other brushless motors depends on their requiring a 10mm shaft of the same length; the shaft can be shortened with a Dremel tool and cut-off wheel where necessary. In Scorpion motors, the shaft has a slight press fit in the aluminum front housing, so removing the setscrews alone does not free it. Removal requires a bearing press or drill press, with wooden support beneath the front housing to prevent warping. Weight including packaging is 62.4g.
