The Scorpion HK-4525 Shaft Kit XL (6mm 55mm) provides a factory replacement shaft for HK-4525 and HKII-4525 series helicopter motors when an existing shaft bends or breaks. The extended hardened steel shaft measures 10mm in main diameter and 112.3mm overall. Its pinion end is ground down to 6mm for installation of 6mm pinion gears. Fit also extends to other brushless motors that require a 10mm shaft of this length.
For installations in other motors, the shaft can be shortened with a Dremel tool and cut-off wheel if necessary. In Scorpion motors, it has a slight press fit into the aluminum front housing, so removing the setscrews alone does not let it slide out. Removal requires a bearing press or drill press, with the front housing supported in a block of wood to prevent warping. Weight including packaging is 58g.
