The Scorpion HK-3226-900KV is a motor component for 500 class electric helicopters using 425-450mm blades. Its construction combines CNC-machined aluminum alloy parts with a gold-anodized finish and epoxy-coated stators made from 0.2mm laminations. The electromagnetic assembly has 12 stator arms, 10 magnet poles and a 9 Turn Delta winding using 23-Strand 0.23mm wire. The winding wire carries a temperature rating of 180 degrees C (356 F). Motor speed constant is 900Kv RPM/Volt.
Mechanical integration must accommodate a 40.9 mm (1.61 in) outside diameter, 50.5 mm (1.99 in) body length and 75.5 mm (2.97 in) overall shaft length. Shaft diameter is 4.98 mm (0.19 in), and motor weight is 239 Grams (7.77 oz). Electrical limits are 8s LiPo, 60 Amps continuous and 1770 Watts continuous. Peak ratings of 75A and 2220 Watts each apply for 2 seconds. Specified motor timing is 5deg, with an 8kHz drive frequency.
The supplied configuration contains one motor, three female connectors, three heat-shrink pieces and four M3 screws; 4mm male Bullet connectors are already attached to the motor. Propeller installation requires a separately purchased adapter for a 5mm shaft. Installation also requires sufficient pinion-to-main-gear clearance to prevent binding. Bearings need periodic replacement and a small drop of oil every 5-6 flights. The 2-Year materials-or-workmanship warranty excludes bearings and subsequent motor damage caused by bearing failure.
