The Scorpion HK-3020 Shaft Kit supplies factory replacement shafts for HK-3020 series helicopter motors, including replacement after a landing bends or breaks a shaft. The shafts are hardened steel, with a diameter of 5mm and a length of 63mm. Compatibility covers both newer HK-3020 motors fitted with a C-clip retainer and older versions that use a retaining collar secured by set screws. The kit weighs 10g including its packaging.
The kit also fits other brushless motors requiring a 5mm shaft of this length, and the shafts can be shortened with a Dremel tool and cut-off wheel when necessary. In Scorpion motors, the shaft has a slight press fit into the aluminum front housing, so removing the set screws alone does not release it. Removal requires a bearing press or drill press, with the motor’s front housing supported in a block of wood to prevent the housing from warping.
