The Scorpion HK-2520-1880KV motor (3.5mm shaft) is a brushless propulsion component for 450 class electric helicopters using 6-cell Li-Po power, including WARP 360. Its construction combines CNC-machined aluminum alloy parts, a gold electro-coated finish and epoxy-coated stators with 0.2mm laminations. The electromagnetic configuration uses 12 stator arms, 10 magnet poles and an 8 Turn Delta winding. Installation dimensions include a 31.5 mm outside diameter, 39.6 mm body length and 3.5 mm shaft diameter. The motor weighs 104 Grams.
The supplied package contains one motor, three female connectors, three pieces of heat shrink and four M3 screws. Electrical integration parameters include 1880Kv RPM/Volt, 5deg motor timing and an 8kHz drive frequency. Continuous limits are 38 Amps and 800 Watts; peak limits of 50A and 1050 Watts apply for 2 seconds. Installation requires clearance between the pinion and main gear to prevent binding, and each bearing needs a small drop of oil every 5-6 flights. The 2-Year materials and workmanship warranty excludes bearings and motor damage resulting from bearing failure.
