Product overview
The HC-541 combines vertical take-off and landing with fixed-wing flight in a composite-wing layout. Its fuselage is molded from a carbon fiber and foam sandwich, which makes it light and strong, and the wing and tail are removable. The aircraft uses a hybrid power system with an air-cooled, twin-cylinder, horizontally opposed, two-stroke, direct-drive aero piston engine. The engine is described as delivering high power, enough for the required climb rate, and a stable power supply for the whole mission system. The headline figures are 6 hours of endurance and a 30kg payload. A separate line refers to a guarantee of 8-hour flight, so two different endurance figures are given.
The platform's main job is to restore and extend communications after a disaster. When fitted with airborne satellite communication equipment and a public network base station, it flies at high altitude and keeps a satellite link. It uses 4G/5G technology to send business data back to the operator's core network. This can restore voice, SMS and internet service to an affected area in a chosen direction. As an alternative, PDT cluster base stations and broadband ad hoc networking equipment can set up a private network that links command centers with rescue teams in the field. Other supported payloads include personnel search and rescue equipment and a five-lens 3D-modeling payload rated at 225 million pixels. There is also a two-axis, three-lens camera that combines 30x optical zoom, a 640×512 infrared sensor and a laser range finder.
Flight control comes from a flight control computer combined with a micro-integrated GPS/INS navigation system. One-click commands cover automatic take-off, landing, hovering, circling, return, altitude hold and parachute opening. The aircraft can also fly several types of autonomous cruise along preset routes. It supports automatic flight beyond visual range, aircraft attitude control and switching flight modes during flight. The Honeycomb Intelligent Control Software shows mission information and flight status in real time.
