The GEPRC MATEN 5.8G 4W VTX PRO provides video transmission for UAV installations, with four selectable power levels of 25mW, 200mW, 1600mW and 4000mW, plus Pit mode. Its 4800–6200MHz frequency range covers 104 channels, and direct frequency entry supports configuration from a ground station. IRC Tramp enables parameter adjustment through OSD, while a function button and three indicator LEDs provide local operation. These controls give an integrator several ways to configure the transmitter within the aircraft’s video system.
The transmitter combines a CNC aluminum alloy housing with a built-in micro turbine fan for active cooling. Its 53.5 × 29 × 17.2mm dimensions and 20 × 20mm M2 mounting pattern define the installation space and attachment interface; the VTX alone weighs 28.8g. Connections comprise an SMA antenna connector and an sh1.0 six-pin cable connector. Power input is DC7–36V for a 2–8S battery, with a separate 5V@600mA output reserved for the camera. The supplied package contains one VTX, one sh1.0 6P connection cable and a user manual.
Installation requires the antenna to be connected before power is applied, together with good airflow and cooling during operation. Thermal protection automatically reduces transmission power if the unit overheats, so maximum output is subject to its thermal state. An additional cooling fan is suggested where airflow is limited, despite the integrated fan. The camera’s 5V output must also be kept distinct from the main power input: connecting main input power to that output port will damage the transmitter.
