The GEPRC MATEN 5.8G 2.5W VTX provides drone video transmission with five selectable power levels, spanning 25mW to 2500mW, plus Pit mode. It supports 72 channels and PAL/NTSC video, while a built-in microphone transmits drone sounds in real time. Parameter adjustment is available through IRC Tramp and OSD, alongside a local function button and three indicator lights. The supplied configuration is a transmitter with antenna, connection accessories and mounting hardware, rather than a complete flight platform.
The transmitter measures 36.4×36.4×7.9mm and weighs 18g, with a high-strength CNC aluminum alloy shell that assists heat dissipation. Installation uses a 30.5×30.5mm M3 mounting pattern, an MMCX antenna interface and an SH1.0 six-pin cable interface. Electrical integration requires DC7-36V input, specified for a 2-8S battery, and provides a 5V@600mA output restricted to a camera or cooling fan. The package includes an MMCX copper tube antenna, MMCX-to-SMA connector, connecting cable, screws, hexagonal hardware, isolation columns, nylon nuts and a product description.
Temperature control protection is built in, but installation still requires constant airflow and a well-ventilated environment to prevent overheating. A cooling fan is required when operating in confined conditions, making ventilation space part of the integration requirement. The antenna must be installed before use. Power wiring also has a specific restriction: the battery or power input must never be connected to the 5V output, because this will seriously damage the transmitter. That output is reserved for camera or cooling fan power.
