Product overview
DJI Focus Pro brings LiDAR sensing, an on-camera grip, a separate hand unit and a lens motor into a modular camera focusing arrangement. The LiDAR mounts through a cold shoe or threaded connection near the camera optical axis. The grip attaches to either side of a cage through a NATO interface, while the motor fits a 15 mm rod and uses a 30-tooth, module-0.8 gear. These mounting requirements define the integration space around the camera and lens; most cameras require a cage to accommodate the grip.
The grip provides a 1.8-inch touchscreen and separate USB-C connections for LiDAR, motor, camera shutter control and charging. Its approximately 2.5-hour operating time applies while powering the screen, LiDAR and one motor with autofocus continuously enabled, using a manual lens at 25°C. The hand unit uses an NP-F550 battery and takes priority over grip focus commands when switched on. Lens calibration data reside in the motor, so replacing that component requires recalibration. A focusing card is supplied for use when adjusting flange distance.
LiDAR focusing reaches 0.5–10 m in default 1× mode and extends to 0.5–20 m with the 2× magnified display. Recognition covers people and vehicles, but intelligent tracking requires DJI RS 4 Pro or DJI RS 3 Pro and supports human targets in wide-area mode. Suitable targets are large, diffusely reflecting objects with reflectivity above 10%; direct focusing on glass, dense smoke and heavy fog are unsuitable. Wireless operation also requires attention to nearby 2.4 GHz equipment, which can interfere with the hand unit.
