Product overview
The Benewake TFA1500-L is a single-point LiDAR sensor for integration into inspection drones, drone payloads and engineering surveying equipment. It provides distance measurements for maintaining separation from targets and assisting positioning. Its maximum range is 1500 m, with an update rate that adjusts automatically to distance: 60 Hz at long range and up to 800 Hz nearby. This makes distance-dependent update behavior a relevant integration consideration for structure inspection and position-hold applications. The product is a sensor component for a host system.
The compact sensor measures ≤25 × 26 × 13 mm and weighs 11 ± 0.5g, supporting installation on small drones and lightweight gimbals. Its field of view is approximately 6 mrad. Integration uses UART with 3.3V TTL signaling at 500,000 bps, with native PX4 and ArduPilot support. Accuracy is ±0.5 m at distances ≤80 m and ±1.0 m beyond 80 m; operating temperature is -20 °C to +60 °C. Low reflectivity, oblique targets, strong ambient light and airborne particles can reduce effective range.
