The ZIYAN F15 is an unmanned helicopter serving as the airborne core of a navigation-aid inspection system. Its described inspection configuration combines a high-definition electro-optical gimbal, onboard AI recognition and an aircraft-mounted remote loudspeaker. Visible-light imaging supports daytime checks for damaged or leaning navigation aids and biological fouling, while infrared thermal imaging supports nighttime detection of light-unit faults and overheating wiring. This combination addresses both external condition checks and less visible equipment abnormalities along coastal waterways.
For navigation-aid inspection, the F15 can cover a 30 km waterway in one sortie. Its onboard image analysis marks fault locations and generates alerts and maintenance work orders. The solution also supports integration with an intelligent docking station and cloud control platform for unattended operation 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In that configuration, operators remotely set routes and inspection frequency, while the equipment completes takeoff, inspection, return and charging autonomously. The docking station accommodates coastal high-salinity and high-humidity conditions.
ZIYAN uses the F15 for long-endurance inspection at CNOOC's offshore oil platforms in Zhanjiang. This deployment forms part of a solution covering offshore inspection, data transmission and low-altitude logistics.
