Product overview

The Viewpro A609R PRO from Shenzhen Viewpro Technology Co., Ltd. is a three-axis stabilized gimbal payload combining a 48MP visible-light camera, a 640×512 uncooled thermal imager and a laser rangefinder. Intended for small multirotor UAVs, VTOL platforms and mobile robotic systems, it supports inspection, search and rescue, firefighting and industrial monitoring through visible and thermal observation, human and vehicle detection, object tracking and distance measurement. The complete payload weighs 257g and measures 78 × 62 × 106.6mm. It requires a 14.8–25.2V input, with dynamic current of 500–1000mA at 16V and power consumption averaging 8W, reaching 16W maximum. Its operating temperature range is -20°C to +50°C, and its ingress protection rating is IP4X.

The EO camera uses a 1/2-inch CMOS sensor with 8000×6000 resolution, a 4.5mm effective focal length and a field of view measuring 76.1° diagonally, 68.6° horizontally and 42.0° vertically. Pixel size is 0.80 × 0.80µm, equivalent to 1.6µm after 2×2 binning. The thermal camera combines a 9mm athermal fixed-focus lens with a 12µm-pitch VOx detector operating in the 8–14µm band. Its field of view is 57.3° diagonally, 46.2° horizontally and 37.7° vertically; NETD is ≤25mK at f/1.0 and 300K. Thermal display options include white hot, black hot and iron red, with 1×–8× digital zoom. For a 1.8 × 0.5m human target, specified detection, recognition and identification distances are 375m, 94m and 47m; corresponding distances for a 4.2 × 1.8m vehicle are 1150m, 288m and 144m. These distances vary with weather, temperature contrast and environmental conditions.

The 905nm pulsed laser rangefinder measures the object at the center of the camera view over 5–1200m, with ±1m accuracy, approximately 6mrad beam divergence and a 1–4Hz pulse frequency. Mechanical gimbal travel extends from 45° upward to 130° downward in pitch, with ±50° roll and ±150° yaw; controllable travel is -40° to 110° in pitch and ±145° in yaw. Specified vibration angle is ±0.02° across pitch, roll and yaw. Object tracking provides 30Hz deviation updates with less than 30ms output delay, a 5% minimum object contrast, SNR of 4, object sizes from 16×16 to 256×256 pixels and tracking speed of ±48 pixels per frame. AI detection covers humans and cars, with simultaneous detection specified at 34 or more targets, 5% minimum contrast and 5×5-pixel minimum target size. The specified car detection rate is ≥85%, with a false alarm rate of ≤10%.

Video streaming supports H.264/H.265 encoding and RTSP, UDP and TCP transmission; specified IP output includes 4K, 1080p and 720p at 30fps. Local storage accepts a Class 10, FAT32-formatted TF card up to 256GB. JPG photographs support EO 4K or 48MP capture depending on the selected mode, while thermal photographs use 640×512 resolution. MP4 recording supports EO 4K, 1080p or 720p and thermal video at 640×512. Control uses either TTL or S.BUS, selected as alternatives with TTL as the default, alongside TCP/UDP network control. Integration therefore requires compatible serial or network interfaces. These imaging and control options support tasks such as checking utility equipment for overheating, observing pipelines and solar farms, locating people during rescue operations and assessing fire hotspots.
