The STARTRC UVA is an owl-shaped lighting accessory for drone operations, including night search and rescue, aerial exploration and low-light photography. Its plastic body measures 6.8 × 5 × 5 cm and weighs 50 g net, with bottom ventilation holes for heat dissipation. The light provides 135 lumens and an illumination range of up to 100 m. High brightness, low brightness, strobe and SOS modes provide different lighting and signalling options, selected through the onboard switch; holding the switch for three seconds accesses SOS.
Integration is intended for DJI Mavic, Air and Avata series drones. GoPro adapter and quarter-inch screw interfaces allow different mounting arrangements, although an additional bracket may be necessary for the particular aircraft. Use on DJI Mini series drones is not recommended because of potential effects on flight performance and safety. The supplied configuration comprises one searchlight, an Android charging cable, a GoPro adapter, an M5 screw, a quarter-inch screw, two washers and an instruction manual. It is an accessory package, rather than a flight platform or airframe kit.
A built-in 520 mAh rechargeable polymer battery powers the searchlight. Charging uses a Micro USB port with a listed 5V/2A input and takes approximately one hour; the charging indicator turns off when charging is complete. Operating time reaches up to one hour, depending on the selected mode. The operating temperature range is 0–85°C, but prolonged exposure to high temperatures should be avoided. The light is waterproof, and storage after use should be cool and dry. Battery preparation includes a full charge before each use and regular condition checks.
