The Foia A30EC is a large charging-type automated dock built for unattended operation with DJI M300 and M350 RTK aircraft. It is designed for low- to medium-frequency inspection and patrol work and can assist in emergency scenarios, with a 1-minute emergency takeoff. The communication base station is integrated into the dock to make setup easier, but it can also be installed as a standalone unit. The dock covers a radius of 5–8 km and supports 4G/5G, 1.4G and ad-hoc mesh links. Both public and private deployment options are available.
A built-in battery management system recognises battery temperature to help extend battery life. Charging time is under 60 minutes. If a battery overheats, the dock stops charging and cools it rapidly, and any charging fault triggers an automatic alarm. Air-conditioning ducts point directly at the battery to prevent swelling from overheating. The dock is rated IP56. It operates from -20 °C to 50 °C and can be stored at -40 °C to 65 °C. Its construction is treated to resist heat, cold, water, moisture, lightning, dust, rust and corrosion.
The dock monitors both its own condition and the conditions around it. If smoke appears inside, it raises an automatic alarm, and a built-in miniature fire suppressor uses an agent that does not affect later use of the system. Temperature, humidity, wind speed and rainfall are monitored in real time. The dock raises an alarm if water gets inside during extreme conditions. If a door opens unexpectedly, it raises an alarm and restricts operations. An optional UPS provides more than 1 h of backup power along with lightning protection.
For links and positioning, a directional antenna tracking system locks onto the aircraft's position in real time to extend range. A dedicated RTK base station provides centimetre-level corrections on internal or external networks and supports BeiDou and other major satellite navigation systems. Compatible payloads include the Zenmuse H20/H20T and the Zenmuse H20N. The dock also works with a flotation device, an emergency parachute, an ad-hoc mesh network module, a loudspeaker, a strobe light, a searchlight, a gas monitor and a laser methane detector.
