The Scorpion HKII-4530 Shaft Kit (6mm 36mm) is a factory replacement shaft kit for HKII-4530 helicopter motors. It provides a shorter alternative to the stock motor shaft for installations that need less external shaft length. The HKII-45 series uses 10mm hardened steel shafts; this version has a pinion end reduced to 6mm over a 36mm length. A flat spot accommodates installation of the required pinion, defining the connection between the replacement shaft and the drive gear.
Installation involves a slight press fit into the motor’s aluminum front housing. Removing the set screws alone does not free the shaft: removal requires an arbor press, with the front housing supported in a block of wood to prevent warping. The shaft can be shortened further with a Dremel tool and cut-off wheel if necessary. Compatibility extends to earlier motor versions such as the HK-45 series, although minor modification may be required. Weight including packaging is 74g.
