The Scorpion HK-4525 Shaft Kit (8mm 55mm) is a factory replacement shaft accessory for HK-4525 and HKII-4525 helicopter motors, serving repairs after a shaft bends or breaks during a landing. The extended shaft measures 10mm in main diameter and 112mm in overall length. Its pinion end is ground down to 8mm to accept 8mm pinion gears. The supplied product is a motor shaft kit, with its fit determined by the motor’s shaft requirements and the pinion interface.
The shaft can also fit other brushless motors requiring a 10mm shaft of this length, and it can be shortened with a Dremel tool and cut-off wheel where necessary. Removal of an existing Scorpion motor shaft requires attention to its slight press fit in the aluminum front housing: releasing the setscrews alone does not free it. Pressing it out requires a bearing press or drill press, with the front housing supported in a wood block to prevent warping. Weight including packaging is 52.8g.
