The Scorpion A-5025-215kv is an electric propulsion motor for freestyle and UAV airplanes. It serves applications requiring a 30cc–35cc gas-engine equivalent on 12s LIPO, or other airframes requiring up to 4000w. Its 215 RPM / Volt winding is paired with a recommended Tribunus II 12-80A ESC SBEC. For a 12s installation, the recommended propeller choices are 19x10E, 20x10E and 21x8E. The supplied configuration comprises the motor and mounting and connection accessories.
Installation space must accommodate a 59.3 mm x 52.6mm motor body plus an 18mm prop spacer, with an 8mm external shaft. Motor weight is 523.4g alone and 548.40g including prop mount accessories. Internally, the motor has a 50.0 mm diameter, 25 mm thick stator with 12 arms and 14 magnet poles. Construction includes 0.2mm silicon steel stator sheets, a 9T/10T Delta winding and 12-Strand x 0.33mm motor wire. The enamel-coated copper winding wire is rated above 250C+.
Continuous operation is rated at 70A and 3108 Watts, while peak ratings are 90A and 4000 Watts. Peak power is limited to intermittent full-throttle use lasting 5–60 seconds, depending on use case and cooling. The maximum rated LIPO configuration is 12s, with higher cell counts possible when using smaller propellers. The box contains one A-5025 motor, one cross mount, three 6mm female connectors, three heat-shrink pieces and one hardware accessory bag. Packaged weight is 610g.
