Product overview
The JOUAV MG-120E EO/IR/LR Gimbal Camera is a compact drone observation payload combining a three-axis stabilized gimbal, visible-light and thermal cameras, and a laser rangefinder. Designed for JOUAV drones including the CW-15, CW-25H, CW-25E and CW-25, it supports security, traffic inspection, emergency response, search and rescue. It captures photographs, live video and recorded video. Onboard AI-assisted tracking can guide the aircraft to follow moving targets without ground station software, while target geolocation uses terrain elevation data to correct position calculations. All published performance data are theoretical results from JOUAV internal laboratory tests under particular conditions; actual performance varies with individual product configuration, software version, application conditions and environment.
The visible-light camera has 1920 × 1080 resolution and 30x continuous optical zoom over a 4.3–129 mm focal-length range, with a 2.3°–63.7° field of view. The uncooled thermal camera has 640 × 512 resolution, an 8–14 μm spectral band, a 35 mm F1.0 lens and a 17.4° × 14° field of view. Its noise equivalent temperature difference is ≤ 50 mK. Thermal imaging supports observation at night or in low visibility. The 1535 nm laser rangefinder has a measurement range of 50–3000 m, accuracy of ±1 m and measurement frequency of 1–10 Hz, subject to the laboratory qualification above.
The gimbal uses three-axis gyroscopes to correct camera movement, with N × 360° azimuth rotation, pitch travel from -110° to +10° and cross-roll travel from -40° to +40°. Its theoretical laboratory figures include angular velocity ≥ 50°/s, angular acceleration ≥ 90°/s², stability accuracy ≤ 200 μrad (1σ), and aiming-line angular position accuracy ≤ 0.5 mrad (1σ) RMS. These values describe gimbal movement, stabilization and pointing precision. The laser's 50–3000 m measurement range describes distance measurement rather than a camera detection or identification distance.
