The HOBBYWING XRotor 3120 PRO is a propulsion motor for professional aerial cinematography and racing, available in 700KV and 1000KV configurations. Its outer-rotor support uses densely arranged cooling teeth to dissipate heat from the windings. Construction combines 0.1mm low-iron-loss silicon-steel laminations, a titanium-alloy main shaft and N52SH curved magnets. Both configurations have 12 slots, 14 poles and 1150ZZ bearings. The enamelled wire has a Class C, 220°C resistance specification, while the stator coating is resistant to 180°C.
Mechanical integration requires space for a motor measuring 37.2mm in diameter and 39.2mm high, with a 5mm output shaft extending 17mm. Four M3 mounting holes follow a 19mm-diameter pattern, and both configurations have 300mm, 16AWG leads. The 700KV motor weighs 160g including wires and uses 8S LiPo power; the 1000KV motor weighs 158g including wires and uses 6S LiPo. Recommended propellers and ESCs differ between configurations, with the 700KV pairing specifying an RTF 100A controller and the 1000KV pairing an XRotor FPV G2 65A controller.
The 700KV configuration has a rated output of 600W and maximum thrust of 7.32kg; the 1000KV configuration has a rated output of 620W and maximum thrust of 6.29kg. Maximum-current operation is time-limited: 96.5A for 16 seconds on the 700KV motor and 122.2A for 21 seconds on the 1000KV motor. These current limits apply in a non-enclosed environment at an ambient temperature no higher than 25°C. Their respective phase-to-phase resistances are 32.5mΩ and 21.5mΩ, and no-load currents are 2.5A and 3.9A.
