Product overview
The HOBBYWING X8 G2 supplies integrated propulsion for small and medium-sized drones in agriculture, logistics, education, firefighting, surveying and inspection. It combines an 8120-100KV motor, an 80A-FOC ESC and a folding propeller, with an aluminum alloy tube clamp and base, reinforced internal beam and triple interlocking structure. Mounting accommodates D35 or D40 mm tubes. The main MFP 30x11S propeller has carbon fiber reinforced plastic blades; the optional MFP 30x11 uses carbon fibre-reinforced nylon composite blades. System weight with cables and propellers is 1095 g*, with starred values subject to the actual product.
Power integration accommodates 12S–14S LiPo batteries within an 18–63 V input range, with rated voltages of 46 V for 12S and 54 V for 14S. At sea level, maximum thrust is 17.5 kg and recommended takeoff weight is 5–7.5 kg per axis. Control uses PWM and CAN, with Cyphal (UAVCAN) specified for the ESC. CAN telemetry includes speed, throttle, current, voltage and temperature. DataLink software supports parameter adjustment and retrieval of operation logs, with storage for up to 20 hours.
The operating temperature range is −20 to 50 °C, with IPX6 ingress protection and liquid drainage channels. The ESC is rated for 20 A continuously and 80 A for three seconds; throttle travel calibration is unsupported. Each propeller adapter must carry only one propeller type, since unequal blade weights can cause vibration or shaft breakage. Mixing earlier X8 units and X8 G2 units on one aircraft is generally discouraged. If mixed operation is unavoidable, symmetrical unit distribution, flight controller calibration and all motors passing idle RPM before takeoff are required.
