The HOBBYWING Professional LCD Program Box is an accessory for configuring supported electronic speed controllers. Its standalone mode displays individual parameter values on an LCD during setup. In PC-connected operation, it acts as a USB adapter for parameter adjustment and ESC firmware updates through HOBBYWING USB LINK SOFTWARE. Supported controllers include XERUN and EZRUN car ESCs in Versions 2.0 and 2.1, plus PLATINUM and PLATINUM V3 helicopter and aircraft ESCs. Production has stopped, with the Multifunction LCD Program Box replacing this model.
The box measures 91mm long, 54mm wide and 18mm high, weighs 65g, and has a 16 × 2 character LCD. Connections comprise Mini USB, an ESC interface with a Futaba plug, and a power supply interface with a Futaba plug. It requires 4.8-6V input and an additional battery pack when the ESC lacks a built-in BEC. It also supports the XERUN-120A V3 ESC, but XERUN V3 operation requires updating the program box using newer USB Link Software; V3.2_121204 or later is usually recommended.
