Product overview
GDL™ (GTAC DataLink) is a multimode broadband air-to-ground communication system from Jitai Hangkong. It is intended to carry remote-control commands, telemetry, images and video over long distances for low-altitude aircraft. Its stated applications include inspection, cargo transport and passenger transport, with large and medium unmanned aircraft systems and eVTOL aircraft identified as intended platforms where airworthiness requirements are demanding. A single device combines a 1.4G self-organizing network with public 4G/5G connectivity and supports 5G-A.
The system supports star and Mesh network topologies, multiple aircraft and ground stations, relay operation, and roaming between self-organizing network base stations. Stated 1.4G link performance includes single-station coverage of 150 km, operation at aircraft speeds of 500 km/h, latency of 25 ms, and throughput of 5 Mbps at 120 km; these figures are manufacturer claims. Its airworthiness-oriented design and verification reference civil aviation requirements, including DO-160G, DO-178C, cybersecurity, ARP4761 safety analysis and ICAO RLP link-performance assessment.
