The DJI Zenmuse XT S combines an uncooled vanadium oxide microbolometer, a 19 mm lens and a detachable gimbal in a 105×101×83 mm assembly weighing 387 g. Its second-generation DJI quick-release interface supports aircraft integration, with compatibility covering the M200 series, M200 V2 series and Matrice 300 RTK. On M200 and M200 V2 aircraft, supported locations include gimbal positions 1 and 2 and the upward-facing mount. Controllable movement spans -120° to +30° in tilt and ±320° in pan, with maximum control speeds of 90°/s on both axes.
The single available configuration combines 640×512 imaging at 25 Hz, area temperature measurement and the 19 mm lens; one 32G microSD card is supplied. Video uses H.264 MP4, while photographs use JPEG or R-JPEG. Digital zoom offers 1x, 2x and 4x settings. Spot and area temperature measurement are complemented by high-temperature alarms, isotherms and color palettes. Scene temperature ranges are -40°C to 150°C in high gain and 100°C to 550°C in low gain. The optimal imaging distance is approximately 5.5–200 m.
Single-shot and interval photography are supported, including single photographs during video recording, but burst capture is unavailable. Video uses PAL without standard switching. Storage supports microSD cards up to 64GB meeting UHS-I Speed Grade 3. The assembly carries an IP44 rating and operates from -20°C to 50°C, although temperature measurement requires ambient conditions of -10°C to 50°C. DJI Pilot support is for Android. XT S R-JPEG images use DJI Thermal Analysis Tool for viewing; FLIR Tools is incompatible with these files.
