DJI Zenmuse P1

Product overview

The DJI Zenmuse P1 is an aerial photogrammetry payload combining a 45-megapixel full-frame sensor with interchangeable fixed-focal-length lenses and a three-axis gimbal. Its civilian surveying applications include 2D orthomosaics, 3D oblique mapping, close-range photogrammetry and real-time mapping. The camera supports 24 mm, 35 mm and 50 mm DL-mount lenses, without zoom capability. It captures 8192 × 5460-pixel photographs in JPEG, DNG or both, with a minimum continuous shooting interval of 0.7 seconds. Its mechanical shutter operates from 1/2000 second to 1 second.

The P1 supports the Matrice 300 RTK, Matrice 350 RTK and Matrice 400. On the Matrice 300 RTK and Matrice 350 RTK, it mounts only to the single downward gimbal. On the Matrice 400, it can use the single downward gimbal or either position in the dual-gimbal configuration; carrying another payload alongside it in that configuration reduces mapping accuracy. Route missions support autofocus at the first waypoint and calibrated infinity focus, while manual operation requires manual focusing. Lens choice also determines ground resolution: GSD in centimeters per pixel equals flight height in meters divided by 55, 80 or 114 for the 24 mm, 35 mm or 50 mm lens, respectively.

With the Matrice 300 RTK, Smart Oblique Capture gathers nadir and oblique photographs along one flight route for 3D reconstruction, limiting captures at survey boundaries to relevant images. Camera angles range from -45° to -90° relative to the ground, and photography pauses in turn buffer zones to preserve the intended angle. This mode does not support terrain following or flight-strip missions. The Matrice 300 RTK and P1 combination also supports PPK post-processing using saved photographs, raw GNSS observations and exposure records. TimeSync 2.0 synchronizes the camera, gimbal, flight controller and RTK system, recording microsecond-level mid-exposure timing and compensated lens exit-pupil positions.
